Who this course is for

This course is aimed at those who may need to provide CPR and first aid directly to children. It is intended for any layperson wanting to learn first aid essentials for children such as parents, family members, caregivers, domestic workers or anyone else who may be responsible for a child at risk of sudden death.

What the course covers

The course provides practice skills of first aid for children in the home environment and includes

  • CPR
  • Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Choking / Management of the obstructed airway
  • Accident prevention.
  • Medical emergencies.
  • Trauma injuries.
  • Environmental emergencies,

A student workbook is provided to each participant before the course begins.

Certification

After completing the course, each participant will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

This course is an attendance-only course and is not accredited as a level 1 First Aid course by the Department of Labour.
